Kim Cunningham

River Guide

Growing up in Eastern Oregon and living in Idaho as an adult has given Kim a deep appreciation for all things outdoors.  Kim first got involved in boating in 2017 when some Idaho friends introduced her to Montana’s Yaak River. She’s since guided throughout Idaho and Montana and loves the varied scenery, stunning views and rugged terrain.  In the off-season she is a middle school choir teacher and has a background as a saxophonist with a Bachelor's Degree in Music.  In her free time she loves to shred the ski slopes, go rock climbing, or spend time on the river!

"The trip of a lifetime! I’m usually hesitant about multi-day adventures because of my food allergies, but ROW went above and beyond to make sure I was not only safe, but also well fed with meals full of flavor. Kim, Maxim, Anna, Rian, Aashna, Tom, Tyler, and Shane were an incredible team; skilled, knowledgeable, and a joy to be around. I couldn’t recommend this trip more highly and already look forward to traveling with ROW again."

"I cannot recommend ROW highly enough. My friend and I took part in a six-day rafting trip on the Middle Fork of the Salmon River and both agreed it was one of the best things either of us has ever done. From even before we arrived in Stanley, ROW curated a seamless, high quality experience in which we not only felt safe but cared for, 100% of the time. The guides (shout out to Tyler, Tom, Kim, Connor, Anna, Hilary and Mike) worked tirelessly to make it a memorable week. Always first up and last to turn in, they set up camp every day, cooked incredible food, led us, educated, entertained and nurtured us with skill and care, all on top of guiding 21 souls aged 13 to 79 down 75 miles of river and over 50 rapids. If you're thinking of joining ROW on one of their adventures, do it. You won't regret it."
